SMART Answers know that the investment into alloy wheels isn’t a small one, and when it comes to the day-to-day wear and tear that vehicle wheels experience, they’re more than up to the job. However, scratches and wear-down can be frustrating to see on something that you’ve paid so much for: which is why we offer an alloy wheel refurbishment service that’s second to none.
Restoring your alloy wheels to their original glory, the SMART Answers team can repair and refurbish wheels so that they look and function as good as new… even if they’ve been accidentally ‘curbed’ a few times!
There are several different processes that your wheels may need to undergo, dependent on the level of damage they have sustained and the colour and finish of them. These include, but are by no means limited to:
Most wheels will be ‘blasted’ by hand to remove old layers of dirt, grime, lacquer and paint so that the metal is entirely uncovered. In extreme cases, the wheel may be chemically treated to remove such traces. Thereafter any damaged areas are prepared, dressed and filled and heat-treated to remove any residual air that may be residing within the alloy. From here, a powder coat is applied before a wet spray. We can also ‘diamond cut’ the wheel for a tailored finish and can achieve any colour or desired finish – just let us know, and we’ll work your job bespoke.
Buckled or severely dented wheels may need replacement, for safety reasons. If you’re unsure if your alloy wheels can be repaired or will need a replacement, ask the SMART Answers team; they will always be happy to help and to advise.
